Our 2003 Evo hit 163,000 miles last night. We’ve had it since new and it has been a fantastic car. Right now, my wife primarily drives it to haul the kids around and I drive the Mini to work. It does need a little work. There are broken clips for the lower nose that I need to fix, but it is in good shape otherwise. Still has the original clutch.

That’s awesome! May it last another 163,000 miles in your fleet.

Nice! Most wives wouldn't be caught dead riding in one of those, let alone DRIVING THE KIDS AROUND in it. Kudos to you both.

I ain’t even bragging, but my ‘01 Golf still has the original clutch after 216k miles. The interior has gone to crap, it leaks oil, I’m pretty sure the heater core is leaking. I could go on and on. But the thing still runs. I can’t kill it, though we really do need to replace it soon.

I know it. She drives the Evo, she is a driver on our LeMons team, is an amazing mom, great cook, brews her own beer and likes to travel. She also puts up with me.

You would be surprised. She gets lots of comments at school events. Most along the lines of them rather driving something fun rather than a minivan.

Ooohh I like the evo8 in that blue. Looks excellent. Kudos to having the wife drive it. My wife drives my old focus SVT. Not as cool a car but a sporty one nonetheless. Thank god our wives don't want appliances!! Cheers!

Wow, much respect as I could not imagine having the same car for that long. Since you have owned your Evo I have had an 02 Pug 206 D-turbo, an 03 Vauxhall Astra SRi, an o4 Toyota Celica T-Sport, an 04 Vauxhall Astra Elite, an 07 Mazda 3 TD Sport and my current 10 Abarth 500 (these are my personal DD’s, my other half has just had an 06 Mazda 3 Sport and our current 11 Citroen DS4). As I type I have been looking into ways for me to change the Abarth a year earlier than planned for a Renault Clio RS 200t EDC . Also I am a bit ashamed to admit that I have never had a car with over 100k on the clock, so many Oppo respect points to you!

Not an Evo, but I got a 2008 Lancer GTS when they came out in spring 2007. I was horrible at keeping it up. Basically just oil changes (sometimes long intervals). Hated the car because it wasn't an Evo, but the 7 years I owned it I had absolutely zero issues with it. The car was amazing and un-amazing at the same time.

Yeah, she loves the fun car. Glad to hear yours does too. The blue is pretty rare and I really like it.

Your wife is as much car enthusiast as you are from the looks of things! She seems really awesome!
